Im completely obsessed with environmental design/branding so VM to me is brilliant. Visual merchandising is a freakin awesome and powerful tool and is definitely considered an art form. You need to be aware of the store’s marketing strategy, any campaigns running so the display can be consistent and or relevant with other communication, product knowledge is essential, themeing and schemeing a high priority and pulling it together like a boss so people can walk by, admire, go through the buyer decision making process, walk in to store and bam! Make that purchase!
